I want to do something big

As I mentioned a few days ago, I can't stop listening to/watching Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. The more I watch it and hear it, the more I want to do something cool like that.

I've considered some options. I could just take the idea and adapt it, making myself into some kind of superhero or super-villain. If I were to do that, however, I would need some sort of identity, because, well, I'm not a superhero or super-villain in my everyday life. I would need a costume, too. I'm kind of broke, though, so I'd have to use a costume that I already have. I've got this nifty silver outfit... and Avon just came out with silver mascara. I don't really know what kind of super-character that would work with, though. I've got lots of scrubs, and surgical gowns, and surgical gloves - but I don't know that I want to be that close to Dr. Horrible. Plus, I wear scrubs in real life, which would make it harder to disguise my identity.

I could also learn to write music, and just blog about my own life in song. Of course, that would involve learning to write music... I can't actually read music, and I'm not a poet, which makes the whole lyric thing more challenging. I could find a new friend who can write music for me - but I have no idea where to find that sort of friend.

I thought about just doing video blogs, too, but that defeats the purpose of writing every day. Unless, of course, I write a script for the blog. Hmmm... that's an option.

Is there anyone out there with an opinion?

Yikes!

So after last night's panic about wonky internet, I was very relieved to finally get my blog up. Then tonight, after I got home from shopping, I returned to my computer to find that, once again, my internet connection was missing!! This is VERY distressing! Luckily, my network admin managed to get it working again (yay, Shane!), so I still have my posting streak. Whew.

This brings up the question, though, what should I do when I truly don't have a connection? Back in May, when the tornado hit town, I had no internet access (and no power) for quite a while, so I used my camera to make a vlog, which I posted as soon as the internet was up again, with a back-dated time. I didn't feel that this was cheating, as I had blogged, but I simply couldn't get it up.

But what about other times, times when an Act of God is not involved? Part of me wants to make a backup post, something that I change the post date on each day, to serve as filler in case I don't get online. I really don't like that idea, though, because the point of this blog was for me to write every day, in some fashion. Honestly, I'm not crazy about putting up videos for this reason, but it's a rare occurence, so I'm okay with it once in a while. And I do compose (kind of) what I plan to say.

So what do you think out there, Loyal Reader(s?)?

On a vaguely related note, what's with the screencap that they used for my video?? I look ridiculous!!

Rubber chickens

I have been over-cuted in the past two days. Yesterday was Mia's first trip to PetSmart, the local pet store. She was freaking out in the car, whining and crying, because so far, her car trips have ended in needles. When we got out of the car, she got quiet and curious, because we definitely weren't at the vet. Inside, she wanted to sniff everyone and everything, especially the big dogs. She was crazy-excited, and I loved every moment. I ended up getting her some more treats (we were running out), a replacement baby for the one she tore up, a new toss toy, a squeaky rubber chicken, and a toy box.

At home, I set up the toy box, and she immediately climbed into it. Of course. She quickly learned that her toys were all in the box, and that she could take them out. So far, she's been really good about only taking out a few at a time, and I've been putting them back in as soon as she's done, instead of leaving all of the toys out, all of the time.

And then there's the chicken. The rubber chicken was on sale for $3.99. It just seemed like fun - even if Mia didn't like it, I knew that my friend Tony would have fun playing with it. I put it out for her, and this is what happened:

I watched this for over 45 minutes after work today. Every time it squeaked, Mia would make a weird, whimpering noise. I honestly can't tell if she loves it or if she hates it. But it's fun to watch!

Stupid tornado!

It knocked out my power and my internet access, but a tornado can't keep me from blogging, darn it! Here's the vlog I did just to keep my streak of daily blogging:

Edit: Bonus! I can change the date to reflect the true date of the blog! But I swear, I will only use this when Mother Nature and other forces conspire to deprive me of internet access, and only if I truly do blog on that day, even if it's only on paper and then gets transcribed.

I really did try to post this yesterday!!

Dammit!

Technically, I missed posting on Friday. Except I don't think I'm going to count it, because really, I haven't been to bed yet, so it's still not tomorrow for me. It's today, so this counts. I'm staying up late to blog, because I'm just that dedicated. And because I've had a drink. Or two. Or more.

I went to dinner and the Full Monty tonight with Ashlee and Colby, and it was all awesome, and then Ashlee and I went to the TicTocRoom and attempted to go to Xmart, but decided not to go in after all. So I've been busy either getting ready or being out ever since work ended today, which is why the blog had to wait. But I'm here now! And just for my girls, I'm posting a video blog tonight. And you should all go check out Colby's blog, because she ate spaghetti. And used a spoon. And I've started a lot of sentances with "and" tonight. I think it's time for bed. Enjoy the video! And I'll finish the story tomorrow!

Also, just because I thought you might like to know, I'm wearing a sweater that I bought for my sister, because I had been wearing my pyjamas, but in the first cut of the vlog, I realized that there was a lot more showing than I thought. And I'm not doing the Full Monty for you people. At least, not online.

Edit: This video took FOREVER to upload, but I promise, all this writing was done before I went to bed! Really! I let it process overnight, but it had an error message when I got up, and I had to start all over - yeesh!
