I must be getting older. There's no other explanation for the way time just seems to be slipping away without me noticing. For example, today is Monday. October 3. What happened to September?? Seriously, I have no idea where it went! It's just gone... and I'll never get September 2011 back again.
Also, that means that November is just around the corner, which brings NaNoWriMo, and a whole different set of timewarps. If you've done NaNo before, you know what I mean. There's something about such intense creativity that just alters the entire time-space continuum. Also, it makes me very sleepy once December arrives.
And then right after NaNo - er, November - comes December, which brings family time and Christmas shopping, and Christmas itself, and then this year also brings my sister's wedding. It looks like my next chance for a decent night's sleep will be... um... January? Except I know that I'll be doing theatre stuff in January, which pushes a good sleep back until February.
Is there anything important happening in February? It's a short month; do you think anyone would mind if I took a 28-day nap?

Let's do the time warp!
This has been such a weird week... actually, it's been a weird month. I swear, the week has started out with three days' worth of Mondays. Not just any Mondays, but particularly long Mondays. It's been bad enough that I haven't been able to figure out what day it actually is without looking at my watch AND my phone, to make sure that one of them isn't lying to me.
Then, just as I'm resigning myself to the Monday-ness of the week, Thursday and Friday zoom by and suddenly it's Saturday. Wha?? So for the last month or so, my week has been: Sunday, Mooooooondaaaaaaay, Mooooooondaaaaaaay, Mooooooondaaaaaaay, Thursdayfriday, Saturday. It is making me all sleepy.
I'm trying to figure out why the days have been so weird. At first, I thought that it was maybe because I'm trying to get up early three days a week to exercise. The problem with that theory is two-fold: first, I've only been doing this for two weeks, not for a month. Second, I'm doing the exercise thing Monday-Wednesday-Friday, not Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday (or Mooooooondaaaaaaay-Mooooooondaaaaaaay-Mooooooondaaaaaaay). So I've got no idea.
Is anyone else experiencing this disturbance in the space-time continuum, or is it just me?

I don't do mornings
And yet, here I am, again. Huh?
This morning-posting thing has really caused all sorts of confusion for my poor brain! First of all, the poor brain isn't entirely functional before 8 or 9 a.m. at the best of times, and definitely not without at least a little bit of caffeine. Second, because my poor brain isn't entirely functional, I have a hard time remembering each night whether or not I actually posted that morning, so I have to come back and check.
So why am I doing it?
Because I'm not a morning person at all, and if I let myself crawl back into bed after letting the dog out, I'll go back to sleep and I'll miss my ride to work. And that would be a bad thing.
But I still want to go back to sleep.

Can't... resist...
My dog is chewing on a beaver.
I don't know why I had to tell you that, but I couldn't hold back any more! It just sounds wrong... but I think it would be worse if I had a cat...
*pulls mind out of the gutter*
Anyways.
I've had a long freaking week. My creativity is sucked out of me. I don't even have the desire to knit. I just want to sleep. And it's a Friday night, and I'm being a big ol' loser and staying home. So I'm going to go to sleep.
BUT! Tomorrow, I promise there will be a new installment of Take Five! Because I know where my navy blue Sarasa pen is.

Sleep
I like sleep. Sleep is good.
Last night, I got to actually have some sleep. Well, technically, the sleeping was done today. Whatever. The point is, I slept. Lots. 14 hours. And I needed it.
There is one problem with that much sleep - your day goes away.
I woke up at 3 this afternoon. I'm usually up around 7 am. I lost 8 hours! However, it was totally worth it! And I enjoyed sleeping so much that I'm to go do it again!

Must learn to blog earlier...
I really need to learn to blog earlier in the day.
Unfortunately, I've gotten into the habit of blogging just before I go to bed. That means that, on days like today - when I've worked all day, then had rehearsal all night, and I get home at 10:30 and have to wake up for 6:30 the next morning - I really don't have the energy to do a fancy, creative, awesome blog post.
However, I also have no desire or, well, level of creativity, earlier in the day. I've tried pre-blogging (writing my entry earlier, like on my lunch break), but they never really work out for me. The only one that sort of works for is the Take Five series, because I'm writing it longhand in a moleskine first, then typing it out here.
I find Moleskines very inspiring... But I've always been a notebook-oriented person. I've got 22 notebooks sitting on my shelf right now, and two in my purse, and one on the table downstairs. Each of them has a different story going on, and I love it. Some of them have been finished in the notebook, some have been switched over to computer, and one or two are works-in-progress, but each is special. And there are very few of those notebooks that are the same. I have one set of four identical books, and then I've got five that are the same style (Blueline), but different colours, and there are the two Moleskines (one red, one black) that live in my purse. Oh, and there's the Moleskine that's on the counter downstairs, but it's not technically mine - it's part of the exchange. And when I get my camera charger back from Canada, I'll post photos of the contribution I made to it!
Say, this hasn't been too bad for a tired post!

Must... sleep...
Okay, so last night sucked. Well, the part after leaving PRN sucked. A migraine hit literally moments after I got into the car to go home. But I still stayed up all night (well, until about 1:30) to bake cupcakes for the baby shower at lunch today. (The blanket I made for the baby was awesome - 'the softest thing I've ever felt' according to Joy, and HD complimented me on it, too!)
And tonight, I'm up crazy late because Josh and Tams were in town, and I haven't seen them since before they got married.
I REALLY need to sleep. Also, I have to do stats tomorrow at work. Yeah. Sleep would be a good plan. I'll be more creative tomorrow.
