Today it feels like fall. The air is crisp, and scents are sharper. Things seem more intense. There's a bit of a chill outside, but just enough to need a sweater, not a jacket. The colours are bright and festive, a mix of greens and yellows and reds. There's a crunch underfoot as you walk.
And, of course, there's the smell of burning. It's not fall unless somewhere, someone is burning the stubble in their fields.
